Five Ways to Have Healthy Skin

Healthy skin speaks of a happy, healthy person. Not only does good skin make one look younger but also improves one's confidence. However a good amount of skin creams and heartache later people realize that it's late and they should have been more caring of their skin when they still had time.

Here are some must-do hassle free tips in order to make sure you retain the glow and softness of your skin.

Sunny Day

The sun feels great on your body and face. Studies show that no matter how good the sun can feel, it promotes aging. Aging beach babes from the 1960s – 1970s are about as wrinkled as they can get!  To avoid a similar fate, wisely place a layer of quality sunscreen between your fresh, lovely face and the sun’s harsh rays, nothing less than 15 – 30 SPF. And if you tend to sweat it off, rub a little more on, perhaps once every two or three hours.

Seek the shade, which is really your best friend!  When you are outside, walking and talking, opt for shady areas under the trees and awnings. Naturally, the sun will find a way to reflect on the bright shiny walkways and pavements but avoid direct sun in all cases, especially between the hottest times, from 10 am and 4 pm. Create your own shadows as well by wearing a wide-brimmed hat and large, movie star type sunglasses.

Smoking Is Not A Joke

Smoking can really damage your looks. Not only does it give you the infamous smoker's pucker it can really damage your sensitive skin cells. Squinting eyes, smoky hair and phlem in the lungs all do more damage than even physicians can estimate. Those who spoke can expect a shortened lifespan and to look up to ten years older than their fellows if they continue with this expensive and destructive “habit“. If you value your health and your appearance, ask your doctor for suggestions on how to quit, once and for all.

Love Pats - Handle With Care

Your skin is not sandpaper. When you take a shower, use gentle soaps, not those with heavy chemicals. Be sure to dry your body by rubbing gently and patting down excess moisture. Avoid hot water and use a moisturizing lotion after showering, especially one with SPF protection.

Food Choices Really Matter

What goes up must come down, and what goes in can and will make a difference in the way you look. It only stands to reason that eating healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, quality meats, cheeses and nuts will help your skin take on a rosy glow. Drinking enough water is also very important. It flushes impurities from your system, helps regulate body weight, and keeps skin adequately hydrated, making you feel fresh and lovely. Taking a vitamin C supplement, avoiding refined sugars and carbohydrates and avoiding saturated fats can only help, as well.

Stress Breakouts

Stress related acne can create nasty and painful blemishes that when aggravated can often leave scars. Try to add positive emotions to replace the stress and pressure that can show for all the world to see on your “once in a lifetime” face. How to lessen stress breakouts?  Make small, but necessary changes. An afternoon walk will help your whole system downshift into a lower gear. Try to avoid the people who upset you, even if it means making a change in neighborhoods, jobs or even a new partner.

Be sure to adequately remove all traces of your makeup, if you wear it, before going to bed. Even better, remove it when you get home. Let your skin feel fresh air and do a steam mask with a warm washcloth over your T-zone (forehead, nose and chin area). Unnecessary clogging of the skin also promotes an unhealthy look, so wash well with a gentle cleanser, astringent, light moisturizing cream. A cucumber mask is also advised to replenish the skin of its naturally vigorous state!
